Thanks Shellbie! I like to see that you took the time to dissect some of the flowers. That is the most fun part about botany. Do not shy away from dissecting the Marigold. It is really interesting to see the different types of flowers in the head (capitulum). I believe there are ray flowers on the outside of the capitulum and disk flowers/ florets in the center of the marigold. So it is really an inflorescence, the same is true for sunflowers…
