I collected these specimens from the Maud Plumley Trail in Butte, AK. This trail is one of my favorite hikes in the area. It has such a broad range of plants and fungi; I could spend all day there and hardly have to leave the trailhead. Theres so many interesting things to get lost in. It does have it’s share of hazards, though. The mosquitos are viscious and one year the wasps were building their nests just above our heads. Thats a small price to pay for such rich vitality. My good dog and I go several times a week and its worth it every time.
these are beautiful!
