I have always had a general interest in plants (my family always had gardens and we lived around forests and farms in a semi-rural town in Washington), but I started to focus on learning more about them a couple of years ago. I took Ethical Wildcrafting on a whim one semester and now I’m on my 5th EBOT course. While I am certainly interested in plants as food and medicine, I also come at ethnobotany from the angle of an artist, so I hope to learn more about the ways in which people use plants to create materials, crafts, etc. I live in Anchorage, Alaska, traditional homelands of the Dena’ina.
