Just remember the scientific name consists of the genus and specific epithet and the author name, so Crepis tectorum L., where L. stands for Carl Linnaeus, the prolific Swedish botanist who named some 12,000 plant species. This plant is in the sunflower family (Asteraceae). You picked a great fireweed example. The plants could probably do well with a little more time in the press if you were to keep them for the long term or were to make some miniature herbarium sheets or send them out as postcards to friends.
