This is my very first Dichotomous Key. Hopefully this makes sense!
1.Glabrous Stem:
A. Needles, stomatiferous on all sides, cone……… Plant 1
B. White petal, pubescent peduncle………………..Plant 2
2. Pubescent Stem:
C. Violet petal, whorled leaf arrangement…………..Plant 3
D. Pubescent leaves with distinct apex……………..Plant 4
I think this is a really great dichotomous key that was easy to follow and understand! You used some features that I wouldn’t have thought to use for the key, such as the “hairs” on the stems. You used the vocabulary we’ve learned so far really effectively, and therefore I was confident I had identified the plants correctly using your key.
I really enjoyed your dichotomous key. While many of us (including myself) used simpler terminology and perhaps less detail to identify the plants in this activity, I like that you utilized the vocab we have been learning and created a more detailed key that was easy to follow and allowed for more specificity.
