ELMValentine – Twinflower Dissection

My second dissection was of a twinflower (Linnea borealis  L.).  I hesitated in picking this species to dissect because it’s so small and delicate, but I was pleasantly surprised  at the relative ease in dissecting it and zooming in on the small features.

  1. Great job Erica! Another fine dissection, and of course stunning photographs. I would perhaps call the inner corolla lanate (wooly) or lanulose (minutely wooly), but I think perhaps villous is a better term, since the corolla surface is not really obscured by the hairs (which is the case for lanate and lanulose).
