Plant Bingo – SLC

I made up my own board and combined a few of the terms that were on the one provided. Hopefully I’ve identified these correctly, let me know if I’ve messed something up.

  1. Thanks Sara,
nice that you used the actually plants to fill in the Bingo card. The legume flower is actually an example of a zygomorphic flower, you can only cut it along one plane of section to get equal halves because of the fused banner and keel petals and the wing petals that are inserted on the sides. In an actinomorphic flower you can cut it along multiple planes of section to get equal halves. The bristly tops of the seeds in dandelions that act as parachutes to disperse the seeds are the pappus, the modified calyx of flowers in the sunflower family.
